Snowed in for days? Feeling drained and chilly? Winter can be a cozy season, but it often leaves us feeling stuck, sluggish, and a little overwhelmed. The good news? A simple breathwork practice can shift your energy, warm you up from the inside out, and help you feel grounded again.
Why Breathwork Works in Winter
When it’s cold, our bodies naturally slow down—sometimes to the point where we feel stuck or tired. Breathwork is a fast, effective way to reset your energy. It gets your blood flowing, reduces stress, and even supports your immune system (perfect for the season!). Plus, it doesn’t take much time—just a few intentional breaths can make a difference.
Try This Winter Breathing Practice
Here’s an easy breathwork technique to help you feel calm, cozy, and refreshed:
Alternate Nostril Breathing (Nadi Shodhana):
This practice balances your energy, calms the mind, and warms the body—all in just a few rounds.
Sit comfortably in a warm, quiet spot. Wrap yourself in a blanket or sip on cinnamon tea to set the mood.
Close your right nostril with your thumb and inhale deeply through your left nostril.
Close your left nostril with your ring finger, release your thumb, and exhale through your right nostril.
Inhale through your right nostril, close it, and exhale through your left nostril.
Repeat this cycle for 3-5 rounds, moving slowly and with intention.
That’s it! A few rounds can leave you feeling more balanced and energized.
Feel Refreshed This Winter
Winter is the perfect time to slow down, breathe deeply, and focus on what keeps you feeling grounded and warm. Breathwork is a small but powerful way to care for yourself, even on the busiest or coldest days.
